Mr. Rose started his law practice and public service out of a desire to help people and to make his community a better place. In November 2018, Mr. Rose was elected to the State House of Representatives for South Carolina House District 72.
In the legislature, he is appointed to serve on the House Judiciary committee. Representative Rose has had numerous bills signed into law, and has secured millions in funding for transformative projects for the District he represents and Columbia. Prior to serving in the S.C. State Legislature, Mr. Rose served his community on Richland County Council, representing District 5. Both State House District 72 and County Council District 5 include Five Points, the Vista, the USC campus, and the surrounding areas and neighborhoods.
Because of the efforts of Representative Rose, jail mugshots in Richland County are no longer posted in magazines and online websites that extort money from accused citizens. Mr. Rose has also expanded expungement laws for youthful offenders and created a diversionary program known as a "Conditional Discharge for Disorderly Conduct." These laws, written and sponsored by Mr. Rose, have helped thousands of people who are deserving of a second chance. He has also been named one of the Top 50 Most Powerful & Influential by a leading state publication for his knack to get things accomplished. The readers of this publication also voted Mr. Rose the Best Criminal Defense Attorney in Columbia, and have recognized him as one of the best elected officials in the Midlands.
